My name is Ray Peloquin. I was born in 1967 with Cerebral Palsy. Due to this disability I am unable to walk or talk and have limited use of my hands.

I was around 16 when an art teacher decided to tape a paint brush to my head-stick to see what I could do. To everybody’s amazement and to my own, I was abled create very unique abstract landscapes with water colors.

Over the years I got a way from painting. I really don’t know why I lost interest in painting. I guess it was because I was bored and frustrated with my capabilities. I don’t know about other artist but I tend to be very critical of my work. However I never stopped thinking about painting. I thought about new and different painting techniques I could try. And every now and then I would do a painting for somebody’s wedding. When I do a painting for a wedding, it has symbolic meaning to show two lives joining together. When people at the wedding find out that the painting was done by someone with a head-stick, they are totally amazed. As an abstract artist I try to create paintings that are a little strange so people will have to think about them. I don’t think people really appreciate or admire my paintings fully until they discover that I do them all with a head-stick.

After a lot of encouragement from family and friends, I finally decided to stop being so critical of my work and show the world the abstract landscape paintings I am cable of doing all with a Head-stick. My paintings are also available for purchase.
